Why this site exists
CBM Checker (cbmchecker.com) was created in 2024 after I watched the same expensive mistake play out across forwarding desks and e-commerce back offices: a freight quote going out with the wrong cubic meter number because someone typed a formula incorrectly into a shared spreadsheet. One missing zero, one row not copied down, one carton size left in inches instead of centimeters — and the quote was either too low to be profitable or so high it lost the deal.
The first version of CBM Checker was a single-page calculator with one job: turn carton dimensions into cubic meters and container fill percentage without a download, signup or spreadsheet. That tool is still the core of the site today.

Editorial & accuracy
Every calculator on the site is tested against real shipping documents — not just synthetic numbers. Guides are written by me and reviewed against current carrier rules, IATA divisors and Incoterms 2020. If you spot something wrong, please tell me and I will fix it.
How the site is funded
The core CBM Calculator and every related tool are permanently free. The site is funded by non-intrusive advertising, which covers hosting and development time.
